Helping our Students Grow

In our changing world, we see the need for better preparedness in mathematics, science, and writing. These are the top priorities for college admissions and employers alike as both entities seek out young people who can think and communicate well. Dacula Classical Academy is committed to preparing students for college level work, and increasing our academic instruction time will make them better prepared for college entrance exams, more equipped to manage college level academic work, and more competitive for college admissions and employment.  To equip our students for this level of work and competition, we have increased our academic instruction time from ten hours per week to eighteen hours per week by incorporating an additional academic day to the week and an additional hour to each academic day.  Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, students will attend academic classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Maintaining our Collaborative Model

Protecting family time and promoting family engagement in your child’s education is a priority at DCA in addition to preparing students for college. With careful planning and restructuring of our academic time and elective time, we have been able to accomplish both. Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year we will be offering two programs:

  • Academic Program

    • Includes all academics and classical studies classes

    • Meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:15 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

  • Elective Program

    • Includes fine arts, practical arts, and technical arts classes

    • Meets Fridays from 8:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Families have the choice to select these programs separately or combine them to meet their needs and educational goals for their children.  Please see the following sample schedule to see how the week is divided into academic class time, elective class time, and off-campus time working at home.
